Review title: Found, Lost, then Found.
*Great fictional storyline. *Well-developed key characters. As you read and pay attention to the details you are sure to uncover the murderer. The sub-plot is as intriguing as the main plot, and should hold each reader's fascination. **Another suspense-thriller delivered by Mary Higgins Clark, enjoyed it on my weekend escape. :) :)

The Lost Years by Mary Higgins Clark. Somehow I got it in my mind that this was going to be one of those Dan Brownesque novels full of ancient Roman catacombs, flagellating monks from some remote sect in Jerusalem, and a quest for the true cross or the holy grail. But no, it wasn’t that kind of book at all. And I must say I was ltte disappointed that that’s not what it was. Instead it was a kind of detective novel, a sort of who done it. But after reading a few pages of the novel I was hooked. I am sure that it comes as no surprises. Immensely prolific and widely popular, Clark author of 42 books obviously knows what she is doing (and writing). I enjoy novels I “figure out”. Well in that respect, Lost Years was frustrating. Just when I think I’ve figured out who committed the crime, my conclusion is hopelessly dashed and I know for sure that I was very, very wrong. In Lost Years, the plot is all, the characters less so. No soul searching or introspection or what my eleventh grade English teacher used to call character development. Its not a long book. Best to reserve a block of time so you can read it from beginning to end in one session, otherwise it may become a little difficult to keep the characters straight (at least it was for me.)

Enjoyable and interesting read.

I haven't read any Clark for many years now so this seemed a bit tame to me. But still one of those where you think you have it all figured out only to find you haven't.

Couldn't put this book down! Who killed her father? and then killed others as a result of the first? That is the classic question. I'm sure you'll eventually figure it out. But anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
