The Ugly Truth and The Third Wheel had been really bad, so naturally my expectations for this book were low. Like, really low. But because the first few books were so good, I had to read it anyways. So of course, that meant I had to drag myself over to the shelf where I picked the book up, looked it in the eyes like "you'd better make a good comeback for this series or else", trudged to the front desk, checked it out, and began letting my eyes rip the words from the pages and put them into my brain. And if my brain liked it, it would make me laugh. And if my brain didn't like it, it would make me feel bad for ever picking it up because I knew now that I would have to return it for the next person to be plagued with the burden of knowing this series is dead and not worth reading anymore. And I had completely the wrong idea. Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Hard Luck, may not be a perfect book, but compared to the books that were before it, i can see it is definitely an improvement, moving back towards Greg's original character. While the whole "luck" theme wasn't exactly something I could see him doing in the first book, it was the cause for most of the humour, and the rest seemed to fit well. I finished it in a day, like most Wimpy Kid books, but although it may not be Jeff's best writing, I'm generous enough to give it four stars simply because there is a flickering light of hope in the distance that is signalling morse code that says "I am a light of hope, and I am signalling morse code because I'm cool like that". And thankfully, it is getting brighter.

I have that book and its anazing ppl u HAVE TO BUY THIS BOOK IN BOOK STORES! Or wait a longggggggggg time!

Decent book not good but looks like the authors hit a dead end now

Kinney has obviously ran out of ideas. This book was cheaply written with only one or two good laughs, and I would only recommend this to either the very bored or my eight year old sister. Two stars. After reading this you may hope Kinney finally puts an end to the long-stretched series.

i don't know cause i didn't fead this book

Greg was lonely. He has nobody to play with. Now that Rowley has a girlfriend called Abgail, he has nobody to play with. But, Abgail soon broke up with Rowley. So she can make her actual boyfriend jealous, and get back together. After, Greg and Rowley were great friends again. Hope that helped. It was a brief summary though. C:
