Four-week Work Readiness Learning Circle to be held October 1, 8, 15, and 22
The Jamaica Plain Branch is sponsoring a four week Work Readiness Learning Circle.
The Learning Circle will include a combination of a one-hour weekly group discussion by Zoom, and a weekly assignment to watch three work-readiness videos, each under ten minutes, and to prepare to answer some questions about them in the upcoming meeting. This learning circle focuses on a range of useful skills for those interested in getting a job, improving their skills at work, or perhaps getting a different job. It is open to anyone aged 16 or older. There is a limit of 20 participants.
The time of learning circle meetings is 7:00 P.M., but daytime meetings are an option if the majority of the participants prefer that. If participants want to discuss work readiness skills that are not addressed in the video library that we will use, we may together look for videos or other digital materials that address at least one of those interests. The facilitator is adult educator and Jamaica Plain resident, David J. Rosen. He will lead the discussions, and help participants to learn from and support each other in learning about work readiness.
To sign up, email email@example.com, by September 15, with "Learning Circle" in the subject line. Please let us know if you prefer an afternoon or evening time, and provide your name, and preferred phone number and email address. Participants are required to attend all four learning circle meetings and to watch the videos assigned for each meeting. If you have questions about the learning circle, please send your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
