Have you ever wondered how letters were sent before the modern envelope was invented? Are you curious about the ways people kept messages private centuries ago? Do you want to learn how to seal a letter like a 16th century spy?

Kids 5-12 years and their families, join Jana Dambrogio of MIT Libraries and members of the Unlocking History research group for a hands-on workshop. Learn how to fold and secure letters using the fascinating historical technique of letterlocking. Letterlocking is perfect for ages 5 and up, and requires nothing more than your hands, some paper, and your favorite art supplies.
