Worldbuilding: Imagining the Where (on Zoom)

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Description

Students in Grades 4-6, join the Children’s Library and the Leventhal Map & Education Center to learn how maps can help shape imaginary worlds. Explore examples from a few fantasy and science fiction books -- especially from this month's Book Tasters read, The Last by Katherine Applegate (https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/13326094) -- before creating your own worldbuilding map. You’ll need something to draw with and something to draw on and any other materials you have laying around to add or build with. Be ready to learn some map lingo and exercise your creative muscles. If you send the Map Center pictures of finished maps, we’ll share them online! Email Librarian Rebecca (rfox@bpl.org) by 11/17 with your child's name and age to register and receive the link to our Zoom room.
