Becoming Money Savvy: Checking and Savings Accounts

The BPL-Babson Financial Literacy Project is a series of workshops designed to help increase your personal finance knowledge. Join the Boston Public Library and the Babson Financial Literacy Project (BFLP) for year-round workshops that can change the way you think about money. 

BFLP is a not-for-profit program designed to help young adults acquire the necessary knowledge and habits for long-term financial prosperity. While exploring real-world financial situations, participants will hone their problem-solving skills and build lifelong strategies for budgeting, building credit, saving, and more. Participants do not need any financial expertise, and only basic math skills are required. Open to everyone age 18 and over. 

About this workshop

Becoming Money Savvy

Choosing a bank and bank account can feel overwhelming. What are the differences between checking and saving accounts? Money Market accounts? Certificates of deposit? This workshop will answer these questions and more, as well as identify ways to choose the bank that is best for you.
