Teen Book Discussion: Furia by Yamile Saied Méndez

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Description

Passionate about teen reads, but having a hard time getting a virtual book group going...? Join a group of teen librarians as they discuss a YA work with teen patrons of the Boston Public Library as part of their year-long #ReadingTogether challenge.

November 2021's work will be Furia by Yamile Saied Méndez. A Reese Witherspoon YA Book Club pick, this book follows 17-year-old Camila Hassan, a rising soccer star in Rosario, Argentina. Camila dreams of playing professionally, in defiance of her fathers' wishes and at the risk of her budding romance with international soccer phenom and her childhood friend, Diego.

The Teen Book Discussion Group will meet once a month on BPL's FREE Teen Services Twitch channel, Twitch.tv/BPLts. No registration is required; simply click this link (Twitch.tv/BPLts) or paste the URL into any internet browser at the prescribed time to watch the discussion. Participants will need to register for a free Twitch account to participate in chat. Whether or not they have read the chosen book, teens are encouraged to join the conversation, letting us know their favorite content from our teen booklists or any other great sources.
