The English as a Second Language (ESL) Chorus provides you with an opportunity to make vocal music, improve your English language skills, and develop friendships with fellow community members — singers from Back Bay Chorale.
Led by Associate Conductor & Director of Community Engagement Katherine Chan, the Chorus invites you to learn singing skills and songs in English. At the end of each class, you will have the opportunity to make new friends and practice your English conversation skills with them.
September's classes will be held via Zoom. Beginning in October, in-person classes will be held in the Commonwealth Room at the Central Library in Copley Square (700 Boylston Street). They will also be available via Zoom.
This ESL Chorus is FREE for all participants. No previous music skills are required, and all English learners are welcome. Registration, however, is required to attend. Please only complete the registration form if you are attending.
Per the requirements of the Boston Public Library, all visitors must wear a mask over their nose and mouth when visiting, regardless of vaccination status. The Library has masks available for visitors. In-person classes are subject to becoming Zoom-only if needed to protect the health and safety of our participants.
