About one in three of us will develop cancer, and we all have known someone with this deadly disease. Dr. Andrew Wagner will explain how cancer develops and review the remarkable progress in understanding and treating this complex set of diseases. Cancer treatment has progressed from traditional chemotherapy and radiation to targeted therapies, including immune therapies, vaccines, and CAR-T, a form of gene therapy. Cancer care also focuses on lifestyle factors like diet and stress management to relieve symptoms and improve outcomes. After his presentation, Dr. Wagner will welcome your questions.
Dr. Andrew J. Wagner is the Medical Director of Ambulatory Oncology, Dana Farber Cancer Institute. His clinical practice and research focus on patients with bone cancers and soft tissue sarcoma. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine, at the Harvard Medical School.
