Seed Starting at Home

6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Hyde Park

Description

Starting vegetable, herb, and flower seedlings at home is a great way to become a more self-sufficient gardener, save money, and grow exactly the varieties you want for your garden. We’ll discuss the best lights, containers, soil mixes, and seeds for successful home seed starting and help you troubleshoot common problems.

Presenter Michelle de Lima, Engagement Manager for the Trustees Boston Community Gardens, has been farming and gardening for 15 years and starting seeds is one of her favorite things to do!

We will also be celebrating the launch of our new Seed Library, co-sponsored by Keep Hyde Park Beautiful!

For more information regarding the program or the Seed Library, please call the Hyde Park Branch at 617-361-2524.
