Special Collections is celebrating Jewish Heritage Month in May with an open house event highlighting items from our collections that celebrate the American Jewish community. Selections tell the story of that community and highlight Boston artists, writers, and musicians who were influenced by and celebrated their Jewish heritage.
Highlights include Mary Antin’s 1894 original manuscript for her memoir From Plotzk to Boston, selections from the Boston Jewish Advocate’s research files, drawings by Hyman Bloom, sheet music and ephemera from the New England Jewish Music Forum, and the first Jewish prayerbook printed in North America, printed in New York in 1766.
Stop on by the open house from 2-4 PM on Tuesday May 7th! No appointment necessary.
