Japanese Flower Arranging: An Ikebana Introduction

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Hyde Park

Description

Experience the rich tradition of Ikebana, a 600-year-old Japanese art form whose name loosely means "making flowers come alive." Dive into the essence of Ikebana, renowned for its minimalist aesthetic and reverence for natural beauty. Learn to craft your own stunning arrangement in our introductory class, led by Russell Bowers, and take home your creation to infuse your living space with the serene elegance of Ikebana.

Russell Bowers is a Master Instructor certified by the Ohara School of Ikebana in Japan. He is president of both the North American Ohara Teachers Association and the Ohara School of Ikebana Boston Study Group, where he organizes workshops and events while promoting the study of Ohara-style Ikebana.

This program is for adults. Limited to 15 participants.

Registration is required. To register, please call the Hyde Park Branch at 617-361-2524.
