Get a head start on Pride Month and join us at the Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library on Thursday, May 16 at 6:00 PM for LGBTQ+ Milestones in Massachusetts with Joan Ilacqua from The History Project.

Milestones in Massachusetts is the Story of LGBTQ+ organizers and activists fighting for legal rights in Massachusetts. We'll trace the legal journey of the LGBTQ+ community in Massachusetts, from the Puritans to today, delving into early anti-queer laws, the 20th-century LGBTQ+ movement, and the ongoing fight for equality for all.

Joan Ilacqua is the Executive Director of the History Project. Joan is a member of the Boston 400th Commemoration Commission and the Community Archives Collaborative. Joan is a graduate of UMass Boston's Public History master's program and her background is in oral history and advocacy.
