Story Time: A Visit with Molly Bang

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Fields Corner

Description

The Fields Corner Branch Library welcomes award-winning illustrator and author Molly Bang to a special storytime, where she will read two folktales from Bangladesh about an “Old Woman”. The illustrations are based on sketches she made of life in villages when she lived there.

Molly spent several years in Asia, where she collected folktales to illustrate. She believes that knowing stories from many cultures, especially those of our own families, is a wonderful way to learn. More recently, Molly has collaborated with MIT professor Penny Chisholm on five books about the science of the sun and how it affects all
life on our planet.

Children who attend this event will receive a copy of Molly Bang’s 1981 book, Tye May and the Magic Brush, a Chinese folktale.
