The Lab at Teen Central has a Cricut Maker cutting machine! Teens are welcome to use it along with our huge supply of vinyl sticker, iron-on, and card stock material to make whatever the heart desires. Whether you want to make a gift for someone, make a t-shirt or tote bag that suits your style, deck out your skateboard, or anything else you like. Design your creation with the Cricut Design Space and let the Cricut cut it out for you. The library has limited supplies of tote bags, t-shirts, and a variety of material for the Cricut to cut. You are also welcome to bring your own bag or clothes to iron a design onto. All material is free while supplies last!
Registration is available but not required. No experience necessary!
The Lab at Teen Central is the teen-exclusive digital makerspace at the Boston Public Library’s central branch at Copley Square. This space contains high performing iMacs and Alienware PCs all with the Adobe Creative Cloud and other creative software, as well as 3D printers, an audio booth, sewing machines, Cricut cutting machines, and more! The Lab is open to all 6th-12th graders (or 12-17 year olds) who are interested in getting creative with technology. It is a resource for the teens of Boston and Massachusetts to explore new technology, gain 21st century skills, express themselves creatively, and become better digital citizens.
