Special Collections Open House: Revolutions in Book Arts

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Central Library in Copley Square

Description

Book Arts is the field of art that involves the making and creation of books. This includes bookbinding, paper making, and so much more! The practices of this art have evolved over time from traditional to more modern methods. Curious to learn more about it? The Rare Books Department holds many interesting examples of book arts practices and is excited to show them off!

Join us on Tuesday January 28 from 2 pm - 4 pm for a special open house where staff will be available to answer questions as you explore collection items up close. No reservation is required to attend this open house.

The Associates of the Boston Public Library provides critical funding to support the long-term preservation of and enhanced public access to BPL special collections.
