The City of Boston's Age Strong Commission will be offering Chair Yoga for older adults at the Connolly Branch on Thursday mornings this summer from June 5 through August 28. Class will be from 10:30 - 11:30 am.
This is a seated yoga class that integrates gentle stretching, breathwork, and rhythmic movements set to soothing or familiar music. This class is great for older adults with limited mobility. It incorporates seated sun salutations, gentle spinal twists, breath-coordinated arm movements, and ankle/knee mobility exercises, then finishes with a relaxing body scan.
Following the class, there will be a Gentle Pilates for Core & Mobility class from 11:45 - 12:45 pm for those who would like to join.
No registration required for either class. Both classes are chair-based so no mats are needed.
