The City of Boston's Age Strong Commission will be offering Gentle Pilates for older adults at the Connolly Branch on Thursday this summer from June 5 through August 28. Class will be from 11:45 am - 12:45 pm.
This is a core-strengthening and mobility-focused class using modified Pilates exercises to improve posture, stability, and joint health. It's designed to be gentle and accessible for older adults. The class incorporates seated and standing core engagement exercises, leg and hip mobility movements, and light balance work, using breath to guide movements.
Before the class, there will be a Chair Yoga and Rhythmic Flow class from 10:30 - 11:30 am for those who would like to join.
No registration required for either class. Both classes are chair-based so no mats are needed.
