One of the creepier Ranger's Apprentice books, The Sorcerer of the North is a brilliant novel with a heavy focus on the fact that society naturally distrusts those who are different. In this novel, Will is finally a full-fledged Ranger, in…

Okay. I have one thing to say. I. LOVE. THIS! (Which is literally the same thing for every single RA book.)
"Greybeard Halt is a friend of mine, he lives on Redmont hill!"

Started out kind of slow and boring but picked up in the next few chapters. The story then got interesting an I enjoyed the test of the book. Must agree with some of others who wrote in, I liked Will more as an apprentice.

When Will is in Grimsdell Wood for the first time it's a little scary. But over all really good book. This book series has really made me aware of how loud I am when I walk around. I cannot put this book down!!!!! I recommend this book…
The most important characters in this book are Will and Halt. Will and Halt are two rangers that go on a long journey to kill the evil sorcerer, because people have gone missing and been getting killed in the north.
This is an amazing…

I read the first half-dozen Ranger's Apprentice books to my boys when they were little to tween-aged, and they were a fave series for them, me AND my husband.
I think of all the Ranger's Apprentice stories, this one is my fave. You get…
I liked this book. It read a bit like a mystery as opposed to you're typical run of the mill medieval fantasy, so I liked that. I also liked the slower pace, so that the plot seemed less rushed. In addition, the villan of the story was a…
This book almost caused me to stop reading this series. After the second book, this series has seriously gone downhill. While the first book (The Ruins of Gorlan) is one of the best books I've ever read, this book is possibly the most…

I have read the whole series and think that they're awesome, but after book 6 or 7 it DOES get a bit boring, mostly just battle stuff, but still good. DO NOT READ ERAK'S RANSOM FIRST!
