Boston, November, 1864. Dear Sir,--At the Annual Meeting of the Bunker Hill Monument Association, on the Seventeenth of June Last, as Appears by the Records. Messrs. William W. Wheildon, Robert C. Winthrop, Frederic W. Lincoln, Jr., J. Huntington Wolcott and Dr. Winslow Lewis, Were Appointed a Committee to Consider the Expediency and Propriety of Re-building in Boston, on Some Suitable Site, the Beacon Hill Monument, Which Was Originally Erected by the "citizens of Boston," in the Year 1790, in Commemoration of the American Revolution, and Taken Down Prior to 1812 ...
