Sir: With A View to Perpetuate the Memory of the Achievements of the American Arms in the Late War With Mexico, as Well as to Strengthen the Social Tie Between Those Officers Who Were Participants in That Memorable Contest, It Is in Contemplation to Organize A Society, to Be Composed of the Officers of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Volunteers, Who Served Either in Mexico, California, or New Mexico, at Any Time During That War. To This End A Meeting ... Was Held, and A Temporary Committee Appointed to Notify Officers of the Proposed Plan, Which Is as Follows
