The hilarious #1 New York Times bestselling picture book about a chimpanzee in a very bad mood—perfect for young children learning how to deal with confusing feelings.

Jim the chimpanzee is in a terrible mood for no good reason. His friends can't understand it—how can he be in a bad mood when it's SUCH a beautiful day? They have lots of suggestions for how to make him feel better. But Jim can't take all the advice...and has a BIT of a meltdown. Could it be that he just needs a day to feel grumpy?
Suzanne and Max Lang bring hilarity and levity to this very important lesson on emotional literacy, demonstrating to kids that they are allowed to feel their feelings.
Jim Panzee is back and grumpier than ever in Grumpy Monkey: Party Time and Grumpy Monkey: Up All Night!

I'm loving the Grumpy Monkey books! This book would have been very beneficial to me when I was a young child, as I'm sure it will be to many now. Even as an adult I found it comforting to see this message, that sometimes you're grumpy, don't know why, and it's ok!

Fabulous, expressive illustrations accompany a fun text about a monkey who wakes up on the wrong side of the bed.

Sometimes we're grumpy...and that's ok. A perfect read aloud for every grumpy preschooler.

I feel like Jim Panzee quite often. I think many young children do. We could all use a friend like Norman in our lives. This book would be fun to read aloud. The illustrations are hilarious, and both pictures and text are highly expressive (as you can tell form the cover illustration). It would be a great picture book choice for a unit or storytime on feelings.

Accept it. No matter what our friends attempt to do, sometimes we just need to be grumpy. F

Sometimes, despite encouragement from friends and family - a person (or monkey) can be grumpy for no real reason. It's all okay, and this fun book makes the point, but also encourages a walk on the bright side.
