Good historical fiction. Fun summer read. Part of a trilogy I picked up the second book before I had the first finished!

Crassus reminds me of contemporary arrogance in politics and military matters. A great read, takes you right into the heart of Pompey's Rome. Highly recommended.

A very exciting novel of ancient Rome. I'm usually a very slow reader. It can take me months to finish a 300 page novel. I finished this 500 page book in a week and a half. It helped that I was on vacation, but the story moved at such I rapid rate, with enaging characters, that I had to keep on reading.

This is definitely for the person who likes high adventure, lots of bloody action, and ancient history. If you like Robert E. Howard's Conan stories, you will also like this one.
