This is one of my very favourite beginner knitting books. Clear instructions, modern looking patterns and a wonderful range of patterns for the absolute beginner to a more advanced.

This is a really nice beginners book. I have only flipped through it so far, and would like to make a couple of sweaters & a cute little dress from it. It has very good explanations for basic knitting techniques, and it has nice, simple patterns (ie sweaters made all in one colour). Although I have not knit from this book, I have knit from other Debbie Bliss patterns and like her work (although her yarn is expensive, but nice! But, it is easy to substitute other yarn for hers)
