Buster Bear wakes up and decides to go fishing for breakfast at the Laughing Brook. There he tricks Little Joe Otter, who tricks him right back. The next morning Little Joe tries to keep Buster away from the fish but Buster gets the better of him. Grandfather Frog advises Little Joe to make nice with Buster.

Farmer Brown’s Boy goes fishing and sees Buster Bear’s footprint, but no one believes him. Blacky the Crow schemes to find out whether Buster Brown’s Boy is afraid of Buster Bear. Buster chases Chatterer the Red Squirrel. Farmer Brown’s Boy and Buster Bear both go looking for berries at the same time and place, and Farmer Brown's Boy loses more than just his berries.
