I am delighted watching DC Barnaby and DS Nelson. The show continues to intrigue me. It is easy to watch, I do sometimes have to watch a second time because I have missed something along the way that Barnaby picked up and I didn't catch.. I like the interaction between the two and Nelson is a great addition to the show as Barnaby plays of off him in a delightful but not condescending way. This one little village should not have very much of a population after all these people have been killed off, but they just seem to go on and on. The writing varies with each series, but on the whole it is very good and with the inclusion of Nelson it seems to have brought a breath of freshness to the series.

After 100 episodes, Midsomer continues to be fresh and darkly comedic. John Barnaby's new assistant is played by a top notch actor, and athletic to boot. This means there's lot of chase scenes with the Detective Sargent character running, swimming, and climbing trees after the suspects. Much fun. The episode "Killings in Copenhagen" is especially good, derivative of sort of a modern day Hamlet. There's pretty much a corresponding character in the episode for each Hamlet character. Rather than about a Danish kingdom, a cookie kingdom. At one point Barnaby and his DS travel to Copenhagen and word gets back to Barnaby's wife that the Danish detectives there are a couple of very attractive women. Barnaby's jealous and pregnant wife's response -- well, you'll have to watch -- is cookie related. That's enough of an incentive to give this DVD a go, right? Recommended.

He has matured and is just if not better that the original Barnaby. New partner is a definite improvement.

We thought these were the best Midsomer Murders in several years, and all due to the writing. The last two years' episodes were weak - the characters could have been from US television. These were complex, as we expect from British mysteries. Worth watching again.

BORING. FLYING CLUB WAS THE ONLY ONE I WATCHED THRU IT'S ENTIRETY. LOTS OF GREAT FLYING SHOTS. THE OTHERS STORIES DULL. DID SOME FAST FORWARDS. LIKED THE OLD BARNABY & SGT TROY THAT RAN ON PUBLIC T.V.

They've changed Barnaby. They've changed his partner. The show has become more "adult" and lost its charm. (What they need to do is change the writers!)

Why does DCI John Barnaby have a new partner??? What happened to DCI Sgt. Ben Jones??
First Tom Barnaby leaves and now Ben Jones leaves???... I just
love Ben, it won't be the same
without him. Just getting used to Tom being gone now this. It will be a tottaly different show.
That's it for me, I am done with
Midsomer Murders!!!!!!!!!!! Bye
