The Throne of Glass is one of my favorite books! It's action-packed, gory, based on a different world, and romantic. Celaena Sardorthien, the main protaginist, is a notorious assassin. she is swift, deadly, and heartless. She has been summoned to the castle by the King of Adarlan, whom she despises. The king says he will release her on one condition: Celaena must participate in a contest. a contest against twenty-one thieves, murderers, assassins, and prisoners. If she wins this fight to the death competition, she will gain her freedom and be titled as the King's Champion. Will the once deadly assassin participate in this bloodbath? For her freedom? A new life?

THIS BOOK IS SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!! I would recommend this book to teens. This book has such a thrilling story behind that cover. Celaena is a assassin who is trying to be the King's Champion. I won't write more because I don't want to spoil the book to the readers. But I warn readers who cannot stand very gory and violent books so I recommend this book to people who are open minded to everything.

This book was SO good, I read it in one night. I recommend it for high school students. This series is about an assassin, but I'm not going to give any spoilers to those young readers out there. Anyways, I recommended it to all my friends, who also read it and loved it. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK IT WAS ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!! I couldn't put it down. :)

I couldn't put it down! It has so many plot twists. When you think you figured it out it ends up turning into something else.

An adventurous tale involving a female assassin, a love triangle, a strong friendship, an enchanted world filled with magic, and a fight to the death. Celaena Sardothien, a young assassin sentenced to slavery in the salt mines, is pulled out by the Prince of Adarlan, and charged with the impossible task of fighting other assassins to the death to become the King's Assassin. Danger lurks around every corner, and as secrets are revealed, readers will be clamoring for the next installments.

The plot was well formed and entertaining and what kept me going in this book. I finally gave up at about 35 % through, even though I really wanted to see how it was going to fall out. The plot and storyline was that entertaining. But-The characters seemed shallow, and like 14 year olds, posturing, in love but denying it. REALLY! This is a world class assassin who has murdered multiple people, who has endured an unthinkable prison, beaten, traumatized, betrayed. She has no subtly, strategy, cleverness, or hardness. She whines, pouts, and is immature. We are told she is a class act assassin, but her dialogue and behavior is that of a 14 year old spoiled school girl, with her two boys of interest. The lack of psychological depth and build of the characters detracted from a great storyline for me. Obviously others love it. So to each their own, and I do wish to affirm the author on her plot that builds suspense and captures the reader.
