In this letter to William Lloyd Garrison, Lucy C. Vincent apologizes for not seeing him while he was in London. She says she has been busy caring for her ill daughter and asks Garrison to notify her when he returns to London so "that we may at least arrange for one day spent here with you if not more." Vincent also reflects that "it is pleasant after the long lapse of years since we met, to think of the great cause we have for gratitude in the victory gained over the oppressors of our dear coloured brethren."
