Seventeen-year-old Cassie is a natural at reading people. Piecing together the tiniest details, she can tell you who you are and what you want. But, it's not a skill that she's ever taken seriously. That is, until the FBI come knocking: they've begun a classified program that uses exceptional teenagers to crack infamous cold cases, and they need Cassie. What Cassie doesn't realize is that there's more at risk than a few unsolved homicides-especially when she's sent to live with a group of teens whose gifts are as unusual as her own. Soon, it becomes clear that no one in the Naturals program is what they seem. And when a new killer strikes, danger looms close. Caught in a lethal game of cat and mouse with a killer, the Naturals are going to have to use all of their gifts just to survive. The Naturals is a gripping psychological thriller with killer appeal, a to-die-for romance, and the bones of a gritty and compelling new series.

Cassie’s life is turned upside down when the FBI decides to recruit her, along with a group of teenagers that possess remarkable abilities. Many people may not know that Cassie is, in fact, a profiler. She can find out information about someone based on their appearance. Cassie is part of a classified program developed by the FBI, in order to use children to help track down serial killers. To make matters worse, a serial killer seems to have taken an absurd obsession with Cassie. She must learn to trust others and work together to hunt down this killer once and for all. When I was reading this book, I was captivated yet disturbed at the same time. The author managed to transport the reader into the head of serial killers exceptionally well.

This book is amazing. It is filled with unexpected events that keep you reading. One of the best books I have read. The beginning was a bit strange but the rest kept me turning the pages.

I really enjoyed this book. The plot was really fast-paced and engaging. I could barely put it down. It was a little on the intense side, with getting into the killer’s mind and with the way "you" killed "your" victims, but it was manageable even though I'm majorly anti-gore. The “You” sections were startling/unsettling at first, but once the reason for the “you” was explained it became more and more interesting. The whole profiling thing itself was fascinating. The characters were easily established, which meant they felt a little archetypal/stereotypical, but they also did things that were surprising and interesting.

I agree with an earlier rating that it seems to be mostly writtern for younger teens those that are from ages 12-14 but I am a verrrry old teen and I liked it. I'm planning to read the next book. Its very simple and easy to understand and has a nice plot.

This book has a lot of action, a bit of gore and interesting characters. The main character is seventeen year old Cassie, who has a natural talent for taking in details of others' behaviour and personalities and life styles, and has a cold case in her own life. She is approached by the FBI to train and join other teens with special talents to assist is solving cold case files. A very good read.

Crime fiction for very young teens, with a love triangle thrown in for good measure. A bit too simplistic for older teens; I would recommend for those around 12-14 years.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: obviously, this is a crime story, but there are some graphic scenes
