This was a fun book to read because it has lot's of action, it is funny, and it is not too predictable. We already know the book will end well because it says that in the beginning, but I wouldn't have known how Lenny and Jodie (the 2 main characters) would have gotten out of some of the situations they were in. I would give the book a 4.5 out of 5 just for one reason. The 0.5 part is because I think it would have been better at the end if Tom Angleberger wrote what happened to Lenny and his family. For example (you won't know what I am talking about unless you've read the book. Which you should! And since you might not know you can just know my rating - 4.5 which is pretty good which means I am recommending it): Lenny's parents forgive him for thinking he was the evil one when he actually helped save the United States. I think this would have been good because we don't know: does his parents actually know what he did? When they were brainwashed everyone thought that Lenny was the evil one so his parents also thought he was bad. We can assume they know he was a good person the whole time but who knows? Or Tom Angleberger could of also added a part when Lenny's sisters get to meet Jodie. The book just kind of ended without that much information which is not a big deal. But otherwise, it was really great! It is definitely a book I would recommend.

As I read it to myself I kept resisting the urge to try out passages on my tongue (though considering that I read most of it on the New York public subway system, I doubt I would have stood out all that much). It’s the rare title that’s funny to kids and adults and reads just as well in the head of a ten-year-old as it does on the lips of a fifth grade teacher. I think he’s got enough books out by this point that you can label this title “classic Angleberger” through and through. Definitely a book for the discerning first-class man-about-town slash girl-about town slash boy-about-town slash woman-about-town. Which is to say, fun for the whole family. Seriously.

Casper aka Fako Mustacho gets a chance to take over the world with his mustache, only 2 people are not controlled by his mustache, Jodie O’Rodeo and his best friend Lenny Flem Jr. all because of 10 dollars Lenny gave to Casper

whiteshadow13 Jun 06, 2012

Lenny Flem Jr. is the only one standing between his evil-genius best friend, Casper, and world domination as Casper uses a spectacularly convincing fake mustache and the ability to hypnotize to rob banks, amass a vast fortune, and run for president.

ELIZABETH RAMSEY BIRD Mar 10, 2012

If he hadn’t lent Casper the measly ten bucks then it’s pretty certain that Lenny Flem Jr. wouldn’t have found himself pairing up with famous television star and singer Jodie O’Rodeo to defeat the evil genius Fako Mustacho. You see, Casper wanted to buy a mustache. And not just any mustache, mind you, but the extremely rare (and luxurious) Heidelberg Handlebar #7. A mustache so powerful, in fact, that when Casper puts it on he’s capable of convincing anyone of anything. Now Casper, posing as Fako Mustacho, has set his sights on the U.S. presidency and only Lenny and Jodie are willing and able to defeat him.
