Rate this:
Samuel D. Wales writes to Samuel May responding to May's request to hold an antislavery meeting in Hopkinton on August 3 and 4. Wales says he "had no time to make any arrangements as yet" but he believes "we can have the town hall for Sat[urday] evening." However, since the town hall "is in the basement of the 1st Cong[regational] Meeting House" they will be denied its use on Sunday. Wales also explains that some members of the church will have to be consulted before the meeting, "but if we fail of the Meeting House, we will try for the School House nearby," he tells May.
