I don't know how to review this book without spoiling anything. Basically, the first three quarters are good enough. They're relatively interesting, with a good amount of adventure, suspense, etcetera. Nothing you won't find in many other books, but that's beside the point. Anyway, the last quarter of the book left me staring at it wondering what happened. The place at the end of her journey is... rather strange, and I found the twist very irritating. Let's just say I can take being on the wrong end of a love triangle, but there are ways to handle ending a love triangle without making some readers want to throw their copy of the book at the wall. Anyways, this book is rather short, so you don't have to put too much effort in to come to that unsatisfying ending.
Very unique story line with amazing characters and a twist ending. You won't be able to put it down because there is not a dull second in the book. The descriptions are so well done that I could almost hear the pounding of the bandits horses hooves over the desert and feel the sand hit my face. This book is impossible to name for genre because there is so much woven into it's pages but it is mainly a fantasy. You won't be able to read just one of the books and you will never know how the world Claidi lives in really works until the fourth book, the last one in the series. A must read for any fantasy lover.
