Quite dull for a book with "Kracken" in the title. I expected much more.

It starts with a kraken in the deep, surrounded by a host of oddly-shaped fish and crabs that live in dark places under incredible pressures. And then the story leaves this interesting environment to tell a boring tale where a great white shark tells a big squid some basic rules of friendship. While it's fine as that sort of book, there was so much potential to explore realms deep below the surface.

Wasted opportunity, even if there's really nothing otherwise wrong.

This is a wonderful, charming book. I recommend it highly. I didn't see an age range, but I'd expect young children or early readers would be drawn into the story, hoping poor kraken finds friends. *Psst! me too!*
