"One step forward. Two steps back. The Tufts scholarship that put Nora Stuart on the path to becoming a Boston medical specialist was a step forward. Being hit by a car and then overhearing her boyfriend hit on another doctor when she thought she was dying? Two major steps back. Injured in more ways than one, Nora feels her carefully built life cracking at the edges. There's only one place to land: home. But the tiny Maine community she left fifteen years ago doesn't necessarily want her. At every turn, someone holds the prodigal daughter of Scupper Island responsible for small-town drama and big-time disappointments. With a tough islander mother who's always been distant and a wild-child sister in jail, unable to raise her daughter--a withdrawn teen as eager to ditch the island as Nora once was--Nora has her work cut out for her if she's going to take what might be her last chance to mend the family. But as some relationships crumble around her, others unexpectedly strengthen. Balancing loss and opportunity, a dark event from her past with hope for the future, Nora will discover that tackling old pain makes room for promise...and the chance to begin again."--Publisher's description.

Not her best story, had some humor, but didn't like her love interest, he was rather creepy.

When I first started this audio, I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I am glad I kept with it. I found once Nora left Boston for Scupper Island (Maine) she became more interesting. I love small town contemporary romances, especially when they take on other realistic issues. There is a great cast of characters - both endearing and annoying - that makes this more than just Nora's story. Usually books like this one are series, so it was nice to read just a standalone book that encompasses so much in just one book. It did not feel overloaded or too long. I think at times trying to write a HEA ending with realistic issues you have to make some leeway for some things seeming to be too much or forced. I think Higgins manages to balances it well. I would recommend this one to those looking for a little more realism to their contemporary romances, but yet a lighter read than gritty suspense novels.

As much as I did not like Good Luck With That is how much I really liked Now That You Mention It.

As good and as sweet as the story is there is a depth to the subject matter that is handled with such a kind, deft hand. Some characters disappoint, some have an unbearable pain, but under Kristin Higgins pen they soar with triumph often with accompanying humor, snark and a dog I want.

I'd be surprised if you were disappointed after reading Now That You Mention It.

This is my first Kristin Higgins book and I read it for my book club. I normally like realistic fiction with female leads but this book felt a little flat. The best character in the book is Nora's mom. She's a hard nosed lady from Maine and her lack of peppy chatty exuberance is in perfect contrast to Nora's personality. I found the story fairly predictable and although there was some humor the jokes were really played out by the end.

Overall, if you need a quick easy read with a well known plotline this is a good book for you. If you want to have something interesting to talk about at book club, keep looking.
