This movie was too ambitious. I can see why it did not do well at the box office. Slow moving. Disjointed storylines. I was not emotionally invested in any of the main characters. Painful to watch.
Five stars for the facts - this is how the Bush gang lied the USA into the Iraq War. Five stars for the straight forward, concise facts. One half star for some of the dialogue that sometimes is used to simply explain the facts to the audience rather than for one character speaking to another. American got lied into Vietnam, got lied into Iraq. Now let us see if Trump will get us into another war to save his presidency. On the whole, Americans are quite dumb and get easily led into stupid wars (to make America great).
What is truly shocking is that America was beguiled by a wealthy draft-dodging commander in chief---George Bush Jr. who was dead-set against the man his father allowed to remain in power after "Desert Storm" in the early nineties. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld....none of whom actually served in the Armed forces LIED to the citizens and conned Congress to approve a foolish war that cost taxpayers TWO TRILLION dollars and killed/maimed @ 56,000 soldiers with no apparent victory to this day. The mainstream media marched in lockstep with these clowns with the exception of the protagonists portrayed in this true film. The events of 9/11 were tragic indeed----but paled in contrast to the disasterous consequences which followed. That this brilliant film only grossed $77,000 at the box office is a testament to America's ignorance of facts, and their embrace of all things patriotic and Nationalistic. That we have yet another draft-dodging wealthy IDIOT as POTUS is proof that we have simply not learned our lessons yet. Those who do not understand the past are doomed to repeat it.
This drama/thriller film stars Jessica Biel, Rob Reiner, Woody Harrelson, and Milla Jovovich amongst more. The movie is about a group of skeptic journalists who are questioning whether or not Saddam Hussain has the dangerous weapons that he claims he does, leading up to the 2003 preparation to invade Iraq. From the beginning, this movie was really promising and kind of difficult to mess up, but something about everything made such a serious story come across as fake. The dialogue was often over-dramatized, making it almost impossible for the actors to deliver a sincere performance. I would rate this movie 3/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
With all this incredible talent, this film grossed less than 78K at the box office. Seemed like a poor re-boot of All The President's Men. Did not reveal anything I did not already know.
