Offered in 0 more formats...an urban renewal plan for the Roxbury / North Dorchester neighborhoods of Boston; includes written boundary description of the area, a land use plan (with residential and non-residential proposals and a description of the area), proposals for the South Bay Industrial Belt, a community facilities plan (schools, open space, community centers, libraries, municipal buildings, historic sites, etc.), traffic circulation, parks and more; also includes a list of schools with their date of construction and current status, projected public school enrollments by grade (1960 projected to 1970), playground data with area measurement in acres, anticipated market absorption capacity of cleared land, cost estimates, estimates of family and individual relocation requirements, zoning and code modifications, estimated years in which each improvement is to begin, etc.; eight large folded maps have the following titles: 1) Existing Population Density, 2) Existing Building Conditions, 3) Existing Land Use, 4) Existing Circulation (major thoroughfares, secondary streets, rapid transit, railroads), 5) Proposed Land Use, 6) Existing and Proposed Community Facilities, 7) Proposed Circulation and 8) Proposed Treatment and Title I Projects (conservation, redevelopment highway); two copies are kept on this number. One contains hand written notations. The other copy is marked "Obsolete". A draft is also kept on this number; these items were in the BRA collection...
